A recent scientific evaluation utilizing a DB meter re-enforced the Scodwell USA theory on trumpet bell annealing and selective brace placement. A group of brand name trumpets were all tested by the same, high quality player side by side with a DB meter placed in the same position from the player who played as exact each time as he possibly could. The results were a 5DB more of sound production with the Scodwell USA Standard model trumpet over all other trumpets tested. Tony Scodwell attributes this to the annealing process on each individual bell and play testing each trumpet for brace placement to deliver maximum sound production.
